Mission Statement

Redwood Christian School stands for a better product. We provide education that is truly Christ-centered and is administered and implemented by those called to this ministry.

The Christian school is an extension of the Christian home in training young people. The school staff works closely with parents to teach and train the whole child. Our team effort wiII produce a student who is able to be a positive witness for Christ. We look forward to the opportunity of assisting you in developing your child.

Redwood Christian School is a ministry of the First Church of the Nazarene and is governed by an appointed board to establish policies and procedures, which allow the school to accomplish its goals and objectives.

The school board is always open to suggestions from the parents. Anyone wishing to address the board is asked to contact the school administrator so that the concern may be placed on the next meeting agenda.

Redwood Christian School is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International. ACSI is an organization which serves Christian schools across the United States and around the world. ACSI provides spiritual and professional training for our staff. which is essential to the ongoing ministry of the school.

REDWOOD CHRISTIAN SCHOOL STATEMENT OF BELIEFS

We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as divinely inspired by God and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life.

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man.

We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners in thought, word and deed.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and all that truly repent of their sins and believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.

We believe that it is the will of God that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit, being separated from sin and the world and fully consecrated to the will of God, thereby receiving power for holy living and effective service.

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, and in His ascension into Heaven and in His present life there for us, as high Priest and Advocate.

We believe in the blessed hope, the personal, bodily return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

PURPOSE

To create a Christ-filled educational environment.

To work together with the family and church.

To strive to recognize the uniqueness of each student and to nurture each special Godgiven talent and ability.

To equip children to become disciples of Jesus through the process of teaching, training, and the building of character.

To provide a setting where:

Christian values are appreciated, lived, encouraged and expected.

Students are given the opportunity for self-direction, value judgments and decision-making.

Failures and mistakes are seen as areas for growth rather than as stigmatizing
